Right of Withdrawal & Returns Policy

1. Consumer Right of Withdrawal

If you are purchasing as a consumer (an individual buying for personal use and not for business, trade, craft or professional purposes), you have the right to withdraw from your purchase within 14 days without giving any reason.

The withdrawal period expires 14 days after the day on which you, or a third party indicated by you (other than the carrier), takes possession of the goods.

To exercise your right of withdrawal, you must inform us of your decision to withdraw from the contract by a clear statement (for example by email or post). You may use the model withdrawal form below, although this is not obligatory.

2. Effects of Withdrawal

If you withdraw from this contract, we will reimburse all payments received from you, including the cost of standard delivery (excluding any additional costs resulting from your choice of a delivery method other than our standard delivery option).

Reimbursement will be made without undue delay and no later than 14 days after we receive the returned goods or evidence that the goods have been returned.

Refunds will be made using the same means of payment used for the original transaction unless otherwise agreed.

3. Returning Goods

You must return the goods without undue delay and no later than 14 days from the date on which you notify us of your withdrawal.

The customer is responsible for the direct cost of returning goods unless otherwise agreed.

Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging where reasonably possible.

4. Exceptions to the Right of Withdrawal

The right of withdrawal does not apply to:

  • Goods made to the customer's specifications or clearly personalised.

  • Sealed goods that are not suitable for return due to health protection or hygiene reasons if unsealed after delivery.

  • Goods that have been mixed, altered, contaminated or used after delivery.

  • Any products where the seal has been broken and the product cannot be resold as new.

5. Business Customers

The statutory 14-day right of withdrawal applies only to consumers.

Orders placed for business, trade, craft or professional purposes, including customers purchasing supplies for the manufacture and sale of candles, wax melts, soaps, diffusers or other products, are not covered by the consumer right of withdrawal.

Business orders may only be returned with the prior agreement of Irish Candle Supplies and may be subject to restocking charges.

6. Damaged, Faulty or Incorrect Goods

If you receive goods that are damaged, faulty or incorrect, please contact us within 48 hours of delivery and provide photographs where possible.

Where goods are confirmed as faulty, damaged or supplied in error, we will arrange an appropriate replacement or refund in accordance with your statutory rights.

We have a 14 day return policy, which means you have 14 days after receiving your item to request a return. 

To be eligible for a return, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused and in its original packaging.

If your return is accepted, we’ll send you a return shipping label, as well as instructions on how and where to send your package. Items sent back to us without first requesting a return will not be accepted.

Damages and issues
Please inspect your order upon delivery and contact us immediately if the item is defective, damaged or if you received the wrong item, so that we can evaluate the issue and make it right.

Exceptions / non-returnable items
Certain types of items cannot be returned, like fragrance oils, waxes and wicks for safety reasons. 

Unfortunately, we cannot accept returns on sale items or gift cards.

Exchanges
The fastest way to ensure you get what you want is to return the item you have, and once the return is accepted, make a separate purchase for the new item.

European Union 14 day cooling off period
Notwithstanding the above, if the merchandise is being shipped into the European Union, you have the right to cancel or return your order within 14 days, for any reason and without a justification. As above, your item must be in the same condition that you received it, unused, and in its original packaging. 

Refunds
We will notify you once we’ve received and inspected your return, and let you know if the refund was approved or not. If approved, you’ll be automatically refunded on your original payment method within 10 business days. Please remember it can take some time for your bank or credit card company to process and post the refund too.
